I have a little time off-call after a busy month in December. My practice is growing, and it's been a bittersweet year of joys and sorrows. I'm now planted in my home office and am sure I'll enjoy the low-key nature of being home and having all my books and equipment in one location.
I intend to move firmly into the land of urban homesteading this year. I'm enjoying learning new things in the kitchen, making canned goodness, and intend to start raising chickens this spring.
Looking forward to a year of discovery and reflection! And maybe even an effort at capturing these moments in pictures and words. Happy New Year!

I am so excited to hear more about chickens! What kind and how many are you planning on getting. Living in a north-facing (and thus, absolutely NO sun) townhome with no yard, I have to live vicariously through others and the books I read!
I'm thinking I'll get five. I want pretty eggs, but have been counselled to get a couple good layers in there too. I am really starting from scratch on this learning curve!
