This and That

I am good at many things but blogging is not one of them. Still, I thought I'd share some of what I've been up to.
Our rosebushes are in full bloom and gorgeous, and we have a persistent crop of volunteer snapdragons that continues to grow each year. I have some tomato plants in, and am trying to replace the front lawn with native plants bit by bit.
I have been to two conferences this past month, and have thus had the time to make two baby sweaters. This first one is for Baby A, who turned a year in May. I was privileged to attend her birth as a doula.
This second sweater is for Baby Z, who will be joining us on this earth in August. I am his mama's midwife, and she is having a baby shower in a couple weeks.

I've been reading a lot for pleasure, now that my formal studies are complete (with midwifery you are never done studying, but at least I have some free time now). I have a busy summer ahead, and am looking forward to spending it with the boys. Because we are economizing for the season, we're going to opt out of camps and organized activities and say yes to books, swimming pools, and laziness.
